I am a licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in trauma treatment. My areas of practice also include anxiety, depression and substance abuse. I’m LGBTQ+ affirming and am deeply respectful of all sexual and gender identities, cultures and faiths.

My approach is to help you build upon your strengths, develop strategies to manage immediate challenges, and heal the root causes of struggles you are having. We may start with skills to calm your nervous system when you have anxiety or trauma symptoms, or with education to gain insight into your experiences. We may work on strengthening your relationships and support system. As we process underlying issues, my hope is that you start to experience a sense of greater agency, self-worth and authenticity.

The techniques I use vary depending on the unique needs and goals of each client. These techniques include EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), parts work integrating Internal Family Systems and EMDR, Attachment Theory, and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). I can be a primary therapist or do adjunctive EMDR sessions for those who already have a talk therapist.

Sessions are currently taking place via telehealth video meetings.

My Background

I earned my B.A. in Sociology from Colorado College and M.A. in Psychology from Saybrook University. I completed my training in EMDR and attachment-based EMDR with the Parnell Institute. Prior to starting private practice, I worked as an individual and family therapist in school settings and residential treatment centers with adolescents, families, and transition-age youth. When I’m not working, I enjoy writing, singing and spending time in nature with loved ones.

Fees

I am in-network with the following insurance companies: Blue Shield of California, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Optum, Oscar, Oxford Health Plans, UMR, UHC Student Resources, AllSavers UHC, and Harvard Pilgrim.

If you choose to pay privately (without insurance), the cost is $150 per 55-minute session.

Per the No Surprises Act, good faith estimates for the cost of yearly services can be made available upon request.
